On June 13th, guests joined Harry Potter film stars Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick) and James & Oliver Phelps (Fred & George Weasley) to celebrate the opening of the epic new addition to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort – Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, the most highly-themed, immersive coaster experience ever.

Guests watched in awe as the film stars waved their wands and recited the iconic “Wingardium Leviosa” spell to remove Hagrid’s supplies for tending magical creatures that were occupying the attraction’s entrance. With a swish and flick, trunks, storage containers and more flew away, officially opening Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure with a touch of Wizarding World magic. A special message from actor Robbie Coltrane, who portrays Hagrid in the Harry Potter film series and is the star of the new adventure, was also included to commemorate the magical moment.

“I’m excited to welcome you to this new chapter of magic here at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” said Coltrane. “Be sure to hang onto your motorbike, and most importantly, have fun everyone.”

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure joins the lineup of award-winning entertainment experiences in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando and brings an all-new adventure inspired by J.K. Rowling’s beloved stories to life. Featuring rich sets, an actual forest with more than 1,200 trees, ground-breaking coaster technology and a captivating storyline, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is the world’s first “story coaster” – taking theme park experiences to a whole new level.

The journey begins as guests join Hagrid’s Care of Magical Creatures class and enter mysterious ruins, lain abandoned for centuries behind Hagrid’s hut and nestled on the edge of one of the most mysterious places in the Wizarding World – the Forbidden Forest. With Hagrid as their guide, guests will board magical motorbikes – riding on either the motorbike or in the adjacent sidecar – and feel the freedom of flight as they journey into the forest to discover the Wizarding World’s rarest magical creatures. They’ll ascend above the trees, rapidly accelerate through the ruins, rush forward – and backward – at speeds up to 50 mph and more on an unforgettable adventure with a few surprises along the way.

Guests will also experience next-level storytelling and immersion never-before-seen on a coaster, as they:

  • Come face-to-face with some of the Wizarding World’s rarest magical creatures, such as a majestic Centaur, a swarm of mischievous Cornish pixies, Fluffy, the three-headed dog, Blast-Ended Skrewts – a creature that’s never been seen in the films – and more
  • Encounter Hagrid himself as the most life-like animated figure Universal Orlando has ever created
  • Become entangled in a thicket of Devil’s Snare and unexpectedly free-fall nearly 17 feet to escape the perilous plant
  • And so much more.

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. For more information, visit www.UniversalOrlando.com.
