It may not look like much right now, but work has already begun on the new SkyPlex project on International Drive in Orlando.
Engineering and construction crews have been busy preparing the property in anticipation of beginning the structural elements. It is expected that initial concrete pours will begin sometime after the first of the year.
Skyplex is an entertainment complex to be located on the Northeast corner of Sand Lake Road and International Drive in Orlando. The complex will include a 570 feet (170 m) tower, which will feature a 501-foot Skyscraper polercoaster, the 450-foot Skyfall drop tower, a 600-foot Skyfly zip line, the Skysurf water park and a 350-room hotel.
Skyplex will also be home to the world’s largest Perkins Restaurant and SkyPlaza retail, entertainment and dining center and a 2,400-car parking garage.
The project is expected to open in 2019.
