FDOT Shares New I-4 Ultimate Design, Construction Milestones

Design has kicked off and we’re just a few months away from the planned construction start for the $2.3 billion major revamp of Interstate 4 in Central Florida.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and its design/build partner, I-4 Mobility Partners, presented an update on Nov. 3 to the Orlando City Council regarding the project that involves tearing up, rebuilding and improving — including adding tolled express lanes — 21 miles of I-4 from west of Kirkman Road in Orange County to east of State Road 434 in Seminole County …
