The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is shifting the State Road (SR) 436 and Interstate 4 (I-4) interchange to a temporary configuration as soon as the morning of August 24, 2019. The shift is the biggest yet to occur at the interchange, and it will place motorists on the new bridge decks north and south of the old lanes.

New traffic patterns will be introduced as part of this transformation. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the interchange and to not block intersections.

The temporary configuration is necessary to demolish the old S.R. 436 bridge over I-4 and continue constructing the new bridge. The configuration is expected to last for up to one year.

Modifications or extensions to these schedules may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
