The Florida Department of Transportation reports that work on the I-4 and C.R. 532 interchange near ChampionsGate well underway. Construction of a new, innovative diverging diamond interchange will improve traffic flow through the area. Bike lanes and sidewalks along C.R. 532 will also improve cyclist and pedestrian connectivity and safety at the interchange. The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2022.
In conjunction with the work on C.R. 532, construction on I-4 began in Osceola County. The improvements include adding an eastbound and a westbound I-4 auxiliary lane between the ramps of S.R. 429 and C.R. 532, and a new auxiliary lane on northbound S.R. 429 between I-4 and Sinclair Road. The project also includes milling and resurfacing along eastbound and westbound I-4 from the Polk/Osceola County line to west of S.R. 417, and milling and resurfacing along S.R. 429 between I-4 and Sinclair Road. Construction is anticipated to be completed by fall 2023.
2022 will be another important year, with new projects coming online for I-4 improvements in south Orange County.
