I-4 Construction World Drive Exit Detour, Possible Delays Coming

The Florida Department of Transportation reports that the I-4 ramps at World Drive will be under construction.The project consists of milling, resurfacing, and upgrading guardrail at all Collector/Distribution Ramps and its associated interchange ramps connecting I-4 with World Drive, one of the major entrances to Disneyworld.

Lane Closures will take place Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 to Thursday, January 5th, 2017.

Tuesday, January 3 and Wednesday, January 4, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

  • Ramp 5 – Celebration heading to I-4 East/417 Exit will be closed. Traffic will be directed toward the I-4 West Exit, proceed to make a U-turn, leading motorists back onto I-4 East Exit. Crews will be removing and replacing guardrail.

Thursday, January 5 to Saturday, January 7, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

  • I-4 West Collector/Distributer Ramp to Celebration/Tampa will have a single right (outside) lane closed. Traffic will be directed to adjacent lane(s) around work zone. Crews will be removing and replacing guardrail.
