The Florida Department of Transportation reports that eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) motorists traveling to Lee Road will exit nearly one half mile earlier just beyond Fairbanks Avenue as soon as the morning of October 10.

The exit ramp to Lee Road will combine with the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp from Fairbanks Avenue, and function similarly to the combined eastbound I-4 ramp systems at the Princeton Street, Par Street and Fairbanks Avenue interchanges.

By shifting the exit ramp and on-ramp onto newly completed travel lanes, the eastbound I-4 auxiliary lane between Fairbanks Avenue and Lee Road on the existing travel lanes will close.

The temporary configuration will allow workers to complete bridge work on the permanent eastbound I-4 lanes in anticipation of opening the entire span of eastbound I-4 between Colonial Drive (State Road 50) and Maitland Boulevard (State Road 414) next year.
