The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with the I-4 construction project in Orlando:
Westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) from Colonial Drive (State Road 50) to State Road (S.R.) 408 is closing from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18.
Motorists must exit westbound I-4 onto westbound Colonial Drive, and then travel southbound on Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. 17-92/441) to reenter westbound I-4. Law enforcement officers will be monitoring each signaled intersection on the detour route of Colonial Drive and Orange Blossom Trail to promote traffic flow.
During the operation, the westbound I-4 entrance ramps from westbound Colonial Drive, Amelia Street and South Street will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on July 17-18. The westbound I-4 entrance ramps from Kaley Avenue and Gore Street will remain open during this closure.
Construction activities taking place during the closures include striping, replacing raised reflective markings, pavement repairs, drainage work and installing barrier walls.
Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone
