I-4 Ramps at Exit 21 in Plant City Closing This Weekend

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports that beginning at 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, the eastbound I-4 ramps (entrance and exit) at Alexander Street (exit 21) will close until 5:00 a.m., Monday, July 29, weather permitting.

I-4 Detour Route

Eastbound I-4 motorists needing to access Alexander Street (SR 39) will have to exit the interstate using Exit 19, proceed south onto Thonotosassa Road, turn east onto Reynolds Street (SR 574), and continue east toward Alexander Street (SR 39).   

Motorists needing to access the interstate will continue north on Alexander Street (SR 39), turn east onto Sam Allen Road, turn south onto Paul Buchman Highway (SR 39A), and continue south toward the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.

Electronic message boards and signage will assist motorists traveling through the area. Drivers should use caution while driving through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.

These temporary ramp closures are part of the I-4 repaving project from east of McIntosh Road to County Line Road in Hillsborough County.
