The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with the resurfacing of Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County.

This project will repave I-4 between 50th Street and McIntosh Road in Hillsborough County.

  • I-4 resurfacing on westbound US 301 / US 92 frontage ramp (Exit 7). Lane closures: Tuesday, October 8 through Thursday, October 10 from 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

The project has been combined with design project 430335-1 to be built as a single construction project. This portion of the project will lengthen the I-75 ramps going onto eastbound I-4 to allow drivers more time and space to merge into the mainline travel lanes.

Construction began in October 2018 and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2020.

The majority of work on this project will be done during overnight hours – lane closures will be scheduled between 8:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. for asphalt removal and paving.
