Be prepared for some heavy-duty traffic over this holiday weekend. The American Automobile Association (AAA) is expecting more than 41 million people will be traveling 50 miles or more from home during the coming 2014 Independence Day Holiday weekend. That’s represents a 1.9 percent increase from the 40.3 million people who traveled for the same period last year.
The numbers traveling this year is also about 14 percent more than the number of travelers during the 2014 Memorial Day holiday weekend, according to AAA.
Travel volume for Independence Day has grown four out of the past five years and is expected to be more than six percent higher than the average of the past 10 years.
