The Florida Department of Transportation reports that westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) from Colonial Drive (State Road 50) to State Road (S.R.) 408 is closing the nights of December17-20.
Westbound I-4 closes from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17. This westbound I-4 closure continues each night at 11:00 p.m. on December 17, 18, 19 and 20 and ends by 5:00 a.m. the following mornings.
Motorists must exit westbound I-4 onto westbound Colonial Drive, and then travel southbound on Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. 17-92/441) to re-enter westbound I-4. Law enforcement officers will be monitoring each signaled intersection on the detour route of Colonial Drive and Orange Blossom Trail to promote traffic flow.
The westbound I-4 entrance ramps from westbound Colonial Drive, Amelia Street and South Street will be closed from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on December 17. These ramps also will close at 10:00 p.m. on December 17, 18, 19 and 20 and will reopen by 5:00 a.m. the following mornings.
The westbound I-4 entrance ramps from Kaley Avenue and Gore Street will remain open during these closures. The closures are necessary for work on the S.R. 408 bridge over westbound I-4.
